This is a great question because what kind of metrics can be used to determine if you are ready? For starters, everyone is different so there is no fail-proof method, but a great starting point is to ask yourself these five questions:
1. Is this an unbelievable opportunity that I am passionate about?
2. Am I ready to FULLY commit myself (money, resources, etc.)?
