About Lift For Life:

Lift for Life Academy was the first independent charter school to open in St. Louis. When it opened in August 2000, LFLA was sometimes the school of last resort for students who had “fallen through the cracks” in public schools. Many were reading well below their grade level, some had learning disabilities that hadn’t been properly addressed, and some just didn’t seem to see the point of going to school. But the Academy faculty believed in our students, and along with teaching them language arts, math and science, they taught the students to believe in themselves. It worked!

Today, Lift for Life Academy is a school of choice for city families looking for a creative, motivating alternative to public middle schools, and now we’re offering that same alternative for high school. Currently, Lift for Life Academy offers 9th and 10th grades and will add a grade each year with the plan to have a full four-year high school by Fall 2011.
