Episode #12: The Rise to the Top: Hot Companies
Bounce U
Hot Companies brought to you by a cool place Sub Zero Vodka Bar are our choices for the next companies that are taking the world by storm and also companies that you can learn from.
Today’s Hot Company is Bounce U.
Co-founded by St. Louis resident Laura McCabe, BounceU is a climate-controlled environment offering full-service private parties in an auditorium filled with giant inflatable structures, along with arcade games and other activities. Part of a national franchise, BounceU specializes in creating a private party experience, ideal for children’s parties, mom’s clubs, sports teams, and other events featuring the latest interactive indoor inflatable equipment. The games and inflatable structures are designed in such a way where kids and families can cut loose and have a great time in a safe, clean, private setting.
BounceU prides itself on offering superior customer service, which sets it apart from other children’s entertainment destinations. Party pros contact the parents in advance of their event to discuss preparations and make sure the facility is tailored to their needs. During the party, enthusiastic fully-trained staff members keep the BounceU party bouncing, engaging guests in various activities to provide the best party experience possible. Staff members go so far as to take notes identifying gifts and gift-givers, making thank-you notes a breeze.
Brent and Carron Schmick co-founded BounceU in 2003 in Gilbert, AZ, after realizing there were few local options for children’s birthday entertainment. They created BounceU with customer service in mind, and have built a children’s playground franchise model that brings full-service parties to families that create memories that last a lifetime. Today, BounceU has 47 locations in 23 states, with 88 new franchise locations in development.
A few lessons to learn from this great business and franchise:
#1: Customer service is king: In the highly competitive private party industry, BounceU separates from the pack with a clear devotion towards experience and customer service.
#2: Think In Systems: This is what separates a small business owner from an entrepreneur. Brent and Carron could have simply ran BounceU in Arizona. Instead, they decided a franchise system was best for them and the proof is in the inflatables with over 50 locations.
#3: Tap Into Video: You heard Adam talk earlier about video marketing. On Bounceu.com you will find video testimonials, videos of parties, and much more. Video takes your company and injects a huge dose of life into it.
You can check out more of course at BounceU.com.
