About Today’s Guest, Chris Brogan:

Just to give you a snapshot of the kind of person Chris Brogan is:

Chris BroganIn 2009, Chris made the trek to St. Louis to be filmed for my then-local TV show. The Rise To The Top didn’t have a huge audience yet. We didn’t have limos and fancy stuff (still don’t). But, Chris paid his own way and came to St. Louis because he wanted to do the show. That is the kind of guy he is (a great one and one that is helpful to many). Chris has so many things going on that it is unbelievable. Here is a rundown:

In this interview, I pick Chris’ brain about his empire, how he makes his decisions, how he gets so many things done, how he deals with failure, why he jumps on certain opportunities, and much more.

Enjoy!

    David,
Great interview ! I look forward to the two big questions…where does the money come from? and dealing with failure and set backs. As I am currenty working on a platform for a new hook, those are always the thoughts in the front of my brain. I always enjoy the perspective that both you and your guests bring to the table.

BTW, do you realize how many times you say “you know” as you are getting to the meat of your question? …….just messin’ with ya.

    Have a Blessed Day,
    K. Alan Martin

Awesome, glad it was helpful and you enjoyed those questions. Great feedback.

You know, I just, well, you know. You know what I mean? :)

“BTW, do you realize how many times you say “you know” as you are getting to the meat of your question?”

I do this too when I interview. I also say “so” a lot, and so do my guests.

It’s amazing actually how often we say those sorts of random filler words and sounds. The transcripts of many of my interviews show guests beginning most of their sentences with “so”, heh.

great interview as always David. It’s interesting how Chris continually has fresh info. I’ve read and heard a lot of his stuff and it rarely has overlaps. Thanks!

    Great interview, thanks man.
This was a “reminder” to get back to Chris Brogan’s sites/content.

My pleasure, always good for reminders, eh?

Fab interview. I find the struggle between writing what you have to say vs. writing what will “sell” to be a constant. My inclination is always to the former: my sensibilities remind me of the latter. A fine tightrope walk. Thanks, David and Chris, for a healthy dose of inspiration, affirmation and fun! Kaarina

I recall George Clooney saying something similar to Julianne Moore. Clooney’s deal was I make one for the studio, the studio makes one for me. So he does an Ocean’s 11 for them, they do a Syriana for him.
