Brian Scudamore started 1-800-GOT-JUNK? with one truck at the age of 18. Today, after years of hyper-growth, the company has over 250 locations in Canada, the United States and Australia. Its success is well documented: it’s been profiled in over 5,000 articles including The New York Times, Fortune Magazine, Business Week and The Wall Street Journal; it’s become an MBA case study at Harvard; and Brian himself has appeared on Oprah). Brian was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the International Franchise Association, as well as to the Globe and Mail’s Top 40 Under 40; 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, meanwhile, was named the country’s second best workplace by Canadian Business magazine.

A strong believer in personal and professional development, Brian was inducted into the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) in 2004, and served as a board member for the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (YEO). He is a graduate of MIT’s Birthing of Giants program and has also participated in The Young President’s Organization’s executive education program at Harvard University. Brian also contributes a monthly column to PROFIT Magazine.
