Dan Benjamin is a software developer, user interface designer, and writer with over 15 years of industry experience in software development and interface design. Benjamin co-founded Cork’d, the web’s first social network and reviewing application for wine aficionados, which was later acquired by Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV. He also built the content management systems for A List Apart and Capgemini, among others, and has developed software for companies including Convergys, MCI, Vitalsource, and Tupperware.

Benjamin is a writer and speaker with a focus on software development and technology, publishing articles on his popular software development website, Hivelogic, since 2000. His work has also been published both in print and online on sites including O’Reilly’s Mac Dev Center, A List Apart, and the FreeBSD Journal. Benjamin has spoken at conferences including RailsConf, acts_as_conference, and LinuxWorld Expo. He also co-hosts several podcasts, including The Talk Show with John Gruber of Daring Fireball, Tack Sharp with James Duncan Davidson.

In 2010, Benjamin started 5by5, as a podcast production outlet for some of his existing shows such as Tack Sharp and EE Podcast, and new shows including The Dev Show, The Ruby Show, and The Conversation. Benjamin holds a B.A. in Technical Writing with a Computer Science focus from the University of Central Florida.

And Dan has climbed the mountain. 5by5 is his network and features shows such as The Pipeline, The Big Web Show and others, that collectively are downloaded 120,000 time PER WEEK (yes, per week).
