Check out the latest interviews with Kennedy Yanko.
On a bright, sunny day, at the budding age of four, Kennedy Yanko was seated at the kitchen window trying out her new watercolor set. Diligently applying the requisite color to its corresponding number. As she glanced out of the window to watch a white heron float across her family’s pond, a rainbow of brilliant light exploded before her mind’s eye. seeming to flood the outdoors with an other worldly beauty and peace.
And so, Kennedy’s love affair with color began. Since then, her art has been a fantastical expedition into the luminous color of her creative universe rather than a regurgitation of conditioned reality. Kennedy’s world has become more of a sensual spiritual experience. Life transcends from the mundane into fantasy, passion, ambrosia. Her colors and textures express emotion and painting the essence is her joyful exploration. “ Every time I face a blank canvas or add a new layer of texture, exhilaration flows through me like a warm ocean wave and i glide across the universe on an irresistible impulse of creativity.” She breathes in beauty and remembers “That the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the wind longs to play with your hair” – Kahil Gibran
