As the Operations and Marketing Director at APC Direct, Kevin Gagnepain has been helping his customers create successful direct mail campaigns and print projects for the past 8 years. Kevin has created a unique niche for APC Direct as a behind-the-scenes, “trade-shop” partner for a number of small to mid-size marketing and advertising agencies. APC Direct enables them to sell themselves as a full-service, turn-key marketing solution provider, while APC Direct fulfills the jobs in a professional and expedient manner.

Kevin started learning the direct mail industry as a freelance graphic designer.  His comprehensive understanding of the creative process makes printing and fulfillment more efficient, producing cost savings and tangible marketing results for APC Direct clientele.

His career path has been slightly less than cliche. After earning a degree in Advertising/Journalism from the University of Missouri, he spent a decade on the road as a touring musician with Capitol Recording Artist: Stir.

He garnered years of experience in meeting the multi-tiered deadlines while adapting to the turn-on-a-dime changes inside the fast-paced world of music.

This real-world knowledge has contributed to his ability to develop a fresh perspective on creative projects, production management, timeliness and how it affects the implementation of successful direct marketing campaigns.

In 1999 he launched the successful St. Louis tribute band: El Monstero.  By creating a unique promotional partnership with local radio station, K-She ’95, and successfully managing the show’s production company relationships, Kevin has helped turn this annual concert event into the most successful and highest grossing, multi-night concert series in the history of the venue (The Pageant).

Under his leadership, APC Direct has been named in both Inc. magazine’s “America’s 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies” (1405) list and the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Fastest Growing Private Companies” (5) list.

Kevin is a St. Louis native, growing up in the Normandy area. He attended St. Louis University High School (if you’re from here you’re going to ask), and currently lives with his family in Town and Country.  In addition to his responsibilities at APC Direct, he continues to compose, record and play music as a “weekend warrior” with his bands:  Shooting With Annie, Joe Dirt, and El Monstero.

DEBATE: Has The Internet Killed Print?

 Leave a Comment or Question

Has the Internet killed print?

Do you subscribe to actual print ANYTHING? (Magazines, newspapers, etc.)?

Is Direct Mail still a viable option to reach potential clients and customers? How has it changed to keep up with the times?

What is your take? Will print always be around?

There is no secret this is a HOT topic right now. So, I decided that all of us digitalites and non-digitalites could learn a thing or two from a few folks that ARE passionate about print. First up is Bob Mueller -Executive Director Of Business Operations at AT&T Advertising Solutions (Disclosure: YP.com is a RISE sponsor, however the thoughts in this interview are all mine and Bob’s).
