Kirstin Carey

Kirstin Carey loves to enlighten people on the joys of food, health, and nutrition.

She is an entrepreneur with a passion for food, eating, and thoroughly enjoying herself. Her fascination with how the brain and the body work was the catalyst to getting Kirstin on a path to learning everything she could on true nutrition and how food impacts the body, mind, and spirit. Kirstin discovered she has an allergy to wheat and an aversion to dairy and began making changes to her diet and her approach to food.

This cheesesteak eating, native Philadelphian used to hide her veggies in her napkin and hated anything that came from the sea. Now friends and family accuse her of being a “health foodie!”

In other words, she loves to eat fabulous food, but she doesn’t want to exchange enjoyable eating for nutrition! She wants them both!

With 15 years experience as a business owner, real estate investor, consultant, and professional speaker, Kirstin earned the prestigious Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation held by only 10% of people in the International Federation of Professional Speakers. She also serves as a Director on the Board for the National Speakers Association.

After some soul searching and some subtle (and not-so-subtle) encouragement from her friends, Kirstin decided to use her business experience, her love of food, and her desire to teach others how wonderful good-for-you food can be…and open her own restaurant called Nourish in Scottsdale, AZ.

Kirstin lives with her dogs Coal and Holly in Cave Creek, AZ.

Multiple Businesses, Multiple Passions & Massive Transitions: A Conversation With Kirstin Carey

I use RISE partner Wistia for video hosting because they rock. Check ‘em out. Audio Only Player This interview is at “ohhhhh doctahhhhh” status (the highest status possible on the show, hah). My good friend Kirstin Carey is successful at everything she does (and has started 8 successful businesses), but what I think is even more impressive is her ability to transition into something new. For example, she recently transitioned from a very successful speaking/consulting/training business to opening a gluten-free restaurant, Nourish, in Arizona. In this conversation, Kirsten and I discuss a massive amount of topics – from following passion/excitement to making massive transitions (and knowing when to quit). Enjoy!
