Check out the latest interviews with Lewis Howes.
Lewis Howes, a previous two sport collegiate All-American, is also the NCAA All-Division Record Holder for the most receiving yards in a single football game (418 yards, currently an unofficial World Record). Lewis graduated with a Sports Management degree from Principia College, and since his retirement from professional football, he continues to stay involved in the sports industry with his work through founding the Sports Executives Association and SportsNetworker.com. SportsNetworker.com is a site that connects sports professionals in the industry. He also represents sports companies and professional athletes with social media marketing and branding.
Lewis, unlike many former athletes has successfully translated the mental and physical tools learned in sports to the business world.
Lewis is the co-author of the LinkedIn success book, LinkedWorking: Generating Success on the World’s Largest Professional Networking Website.
In addition to this book, Lewis helps professionals and companies achieve greater return on the time they devote to LinkedIn and other social networking through his acclaimed training seminars, one-on-one coaching sessions, and corporate consulting programs. He also creates opportunities for online connections to gather face-to-face through his live “LinkedWorking” events around the country.

The second time, he took us behind the scenes of his most recent product launch. And now he is back for a discussion on success and how you can apply it your business/life. Enjoy! Today on The Rise To The Top: The #1 Non-Boring Business Show: Just one month ago, Lewis Howes and his business partner launched FBinfluence (affiliate), a Facebook training program for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and marketers (In fact, I had Amy Porterfield on the show, Lewis’ Facebook expert, who totally rocked giving us all tons of actionable Facebook tips). In today’s episode, we go behind-the-scenes with Lewis as he reveals everything about the launch (and you won’t believe the numbers). You will learn how they went about creating the product (including costs, time, etc.), how many products they sold (and how they did it), and much more in incredible detail. Enjoy! I was talking with my biz coach, Elizabeth Marshall, and my fitness trainers, Rob and Kim Murgatroyd, and they all wanted to meet each other. So, we all met and we did it via GoToMeeting by Citrix. I use RISE partner Wistia for video hosting because they rock. Check ‘em out. Audio Only Player If everyone interview is like this one with Lewis Howes, we all win. Trust me. Lewis was on the show before talking about becoming an entrepreneur and getting off his sister’s couch, but now he has raised his entrepreneurial game to the next level, already eclipsing $1,000,000 in sales this year. In this interview, he tells the story and the journey so far. He is super candid about how he makes money (and why), what he is great at (and not so good at), mistakes, building badass relationships, and much more. I hope you will pick up all kinds of inspiration and ideas for yourself (yay!). Enjoy! About Today’s Guest, Lewis Howes: Lewis Howes, a former two sport All-American and current world record holding athlete, has graced lists such as Details Magazine’s “5 Internet Gurus Who Can Make You Rich” and Incomediary.com’s “50 Most Influential People in Blogging.” Most recently, Howes was ranked as one of Genjuice.com’s top “100 Most Desirable Mentors” along with the likes of Barack Obama, Russell Simmons and the Queen of Jordan. In just three years, Howes went from sleeping on his sister’s couch to running a seven figure business. He began his entrepreneurial career by hosting LinkedIn meetups around the country, and co-authoring the successful book LinkedWorking. He has hosted over 400 webinars, spoken to thousands at conferences and events, and educated career professionals and business owners around… Read More
Audio Only Player Often times the concept of “overnight success” is challenged (heck, I challenge it all the time). But, it would be hard to argue against the crazy speed, and the pure velocity, that has taken Lewis Howes from an injured professional athlete to living on his sister’s couch to a well-known social media industry leader now with a booming business. Looking at Lewis now, it is hard to believe that this has all happened in about two years. Describing Lewis is pretty hard because he has done and does so many things, including: Co-Author of LinkedWorking, a book on understanding and maximizing LinkedIn. Speaks around the country on LinkedIn, social media, social media in sports, and now his latest topic…webinars. Started Sports Networker. Has several products bringing in six figures in revenue (SWEET!). In this tell-all interview, I wanted to know (for all of us) how he did it, what he learned, and what we can learn from him. Including: How he got started. What were his first moves? What he learned about self-publishing a book. How he manages so many different projects. How he has managed to market and promote himself by helping others. His keys to networking and building better business relationships. His overall strategy for “his brand” (is there one?). …and much more. As always, would love to hear your thoughts, takeaways, and lessons learned. Leave ‘em below in the comments section. Connect With Lewis (and tell him you saw him on RISE): On Twitter… Read More
Is LinkedIn Sexy Enough To Spend Time With? Is Linkedin worth spending time on for entrepreneurs, small business owners and content producers (bloggers, etc.)? That was the question I posed to my good friend and LinkedIn evangelist Lewis Howes. A little back story. I personally don’t spend much time on LinkedIn. I log in. I check on requests. I update my status via Ping. That is about it. It isn’t sexy enough for me. I’m using myself as an example here, but realized after talking to tons of folks that many people are in the same boat. And on the other end of the spectrum, many people absolutely swear by it. It All Started With Chris Brogan: The debate “heated up” (we are all friends here) last week when Chris Brogan made a great post about how he was thinking of deleting his LinkedIn account because he already had too many touch points for people to get in contact with him and most of the activity coming at him on LinkedIn was requests for people needing help (introducing to contacts, etc.). Lewis had a great follow-up to Chris and did a fantastic video showing him the benefits of LinkedIn. Well played, but I wanted to dive deeper. Why? Because we aren’t all Chris Brogan (in fact, probably none of us unless you are Chris Brogan. In that case, hi Chris). Other folks have chimed in too including RISE viewer Ryan Taft on his Catalyst Marketing Blog about the positives and… Read More
