I am the Chairman and CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers, the largest Christian publishing company in the world and the seventh largest trade book publishing company in the U.S.

I have a personal blog. It is focused on “intentional leadership.” My philosophy is that if you are going to lead well, you must be thoughtful and purposeful about it.

I write on leadership, productivity, publishing, social media, and, on occasion, stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories. I also occasionally write about the resources I am discovering.

My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can put to work in your personal and professional life. If you are in a position of leadership – or aspire to be – then my blog is for you.

I invited Michael onto The Rise To The Top for a few reasons. One was to talk about his thoughts on publishing, how it has changed and where it is going (including the role of the publisher). Secondly, to offer some advice for aspiring authors and writers. And lastly, to tell a bit of his story about how he literally rose to the top of the publishing industry.
